About Rina Rose.
Under the pen name Rina Rose, I share my journey to help STEM educators explore the possibility of applying for an NIW (National Interest Waiver). Through self-petitioning, I was successfully approved for an NIW (EB2) without holding a Ph.D. or publishing academic papers, relying instead on my master’s degree and contributions to STEM education.
I don’t suggest that every STEM educator will automatically qualify for an NIW. However, you might already meet the criteria without realizing it. Even if you’re not eligible yet, with the right steps and thoughtful preparation, you can strengthen your case and work toward eligibility.
While working on my own application, I noticed a significant lack of resources specifically tailored to STEM educators—especially those without a Ph.D. or extensive research credentials. This realization motivated me to create this site as a resource for educators like me, who are navigating unique paths to self-petitioning.
My hope is that this site encourages you to take the first step toward exploring your own NIW journey. Whether the outcome aligns with your expectations or not, taking that first step could lead to opportunities you never imagined.
