RFE Letter

Narrative of My RFE Experience

Filing an NIW petition feels like walking a tightrope, especially with premium processing. Each day, I anxiously checked the USCIS website, hoping for updates. When the RFE arrived, it felt like both a lifeline and a noose—a chance to move forward but also a source of overwhelming anxiety and pressure. The 11-page letter from the Nebraska Service Center was intimidating, but I reminded myself that RFEs are common, and that a strong, well-prepared response could lead to success. Holding onto that hope was what kept me moving forward.

I submitted my RFE response as early as possible, following the recommendations in the letter, and then began the grueling wait. The 41 business days—or 59 calendar days—felt endless, filled with uncertainty and constant worry. However, according to the USCIS case status online, my petition wasn’t actively reviewed until 12/12. Reflecting on this, I now realize my anxiety during those weeks was unnecessary, as nothing was going to happen until they actually started reviewing my response. To my surprise, on that very same day, my case was approved—a clear indication of the strength and effectiveness of my RFE response.

Ultimately, USCIS recognized the merits of my case and approved my green card eligibility..
